Yo! Its been another great week up here in the bush! This week was also hot again, which was alright i think i am getting used to it!
This last Wednesday i went with our branch president and we visited some less actives and i met this guy, thats a little wacko, but he loves ham radios and has this massive set up in his back yard and he said he wanted me to get on his roof and fix something bc his back is bad. So i am looking forward to that and being able to teach him! Also we are working with a less active/part member family and 2 of them are, or were, on date for baptism but things have came up so we are working on that. We have also re-activated someone and she wants to go too the temple so we are teaching her about that, which is awesome!
I hope you all got a chance to watch president Monson's funeral, the senior missionary elder (Elder Ferris) suggested we watch it live so that was 6am here so we got up and watched it! We went out to a little farm with elder Ferris on Saturday to help him build a veranda on this little house. It was way fun i will send a pic of it! We also leveled out this dirt by the house with shovels, it took so long and we didnt really finish, but i coulda done the whole thing with a skid steer in about 5 minutes haha!
Oh man i tried something i didn't like this week... I told myself i would try anything someone offered me out here so our branch president asked if i wanted to try some "corn juice', i aint scared so i said sure it cant be all bad. So we opens a can of corn and pours the juice into a glass and I'm like umm... It was a decently full glass but i just sent it and man, that was nasty. I said "oh yeah not bad" but just imagine canned corn juice, bad.
Anyway I gave a talk on Sunday and it was on "avoiding temptation" haha awesome topic right? Anyway it was all about avoiding temptations is easier than resisting. I touched on the importance of standing in holy places and the effect it has on our character. I encourage you all to keep the spirit with you at all times and stay busy with thing that will make you grow, like reading the scriptures and praying. I know it can completely change your life for the better. I love you all and appreciate the support!
